Sandra. Mirka. You will be proud of me.
I got so piss ass drunk on Saturday night, passed out in the street, got taken to the hospital, and have a twisted ankle. I am still slightly hungover.
Yes.
Anyways, been a while since I have updated. Second year started about a week ago and everything is going fine so far. Just that beginning-of-term-panic in which your like, shit, I am gonna be working my ass off for the next four months. Classes should be good though. I only have classes on Tuesday and Thursday since I have two online courses, and it is great. I love how of the majority of the week, I can just lie in bed and do work from there - its going to come in major handy when the winter DOOM comes. Did really well in my summer courses though, considering how I had lost all the motivation for life by the time the exams rolled around. I hated it so much. I thought it wouldn't bother me to have something to do over the summer, but all I wanted to do was chill, and I couldn't do that. I have learned my lesson - you have to take a break now and again, and it is about time I did that.
A couple weeks ago, I finally got the chance to volunteer for YFU. I had way too much fun with Katilynn and one of the other returnees. I can't wait to get more involved with them now that I spend 90% of my time in Guelph. One of the reasons I couldn't help out sooner was because I was so far away from their main office and where they do orientations that I could never get up there. Now, since I am in Guelph, I am only about 30 minutes away. Yay! It kinda renewed my interest in Japanese and picking it back up again. I haven't lost as much as I thought I did (I discovered this when talking to the Japanese students), and I plan on studying it in my spare time if possible. I want to take the JLPT again, but that probably won't happen this year, because of my crazy exam schedule. I am actually trying to convince my mother to host a student, and I want to be directly involved with helping YFU expand down into the Niagara Region. Here's hoping I can make that happen.
Anyways, probably going to be going back to NYC this April with my mom, even though I made the decision to head to Japan again once I finish school. I will just have to save up for that after my return trip to NYC - which will be sweet.
Moved into the new house for school. it is a lovely house, but our washing machine is broken and the landlord keeps putting off coming up to fix it. We are getting really annoyed and may have to take care of it ourselves. In which case, she will owe 400 bucks for a new washing machine. :)
I have recently got into Shaman King, which is the weirdest thing ever. I was never a huge fan, but I did enjoy the anime when played oh so many years ago on the Fox Box. Now, I am like OMFGSHAMANKINGMANGAILOVEYOUHAO it is crazy. I even bought a Yoh plushie off of Ebay. WTF it is the cutest thing ever. Loving the remake of FMA too, but I still love the original for personal reasons.
Speaking of which, it will be five years for my dad on Wednesday. I can't believe he has been gone that long, and looking back, I can't believe everything that has happened since them. My mom and I both have come along way, but I know we both have a long way to go. Thinking about it, it is something that I will never be completely able to walk away from; everyday when I wake up I am reminded of that fact that hes not here anymore. I still miss him terribly, and I will always miss him, but everyday, it gets easier to talk about.
Anyways, must be off. I have a new ep of FMA to watch ~
